International Circulation: Professor Yancy， can you give us a brief overview of this year’s sessions.  For what are some of the key areas you’d like to speak about today?

    Prof. Yancy:  I would like say that I believe Scientific Sessions 2009 for the AHA has been a stunning success. We have well over 20，000 participants and in today’s economic and business climate， to have that many dedicated individuals come to this meeting and partake in the information being shared is quite extraordinary. There are several highlights to this meeting.  We have had more late-breaking clinical trials than ever before with lots of new sciences come forward. We have had a reorganization of the way in which the data are presented， trying to make in more of an inter-related interpretation of the experience so， whereas before we had populations science， basic science， and clinical science compartmentalized， we have brought those together into core modules that look at things like vascular disease or left ventricular function or prevention of disease， which allows scientists from different realms to really visit with each other， collaborate and share ideas， and network to share new concepts and ideas that will allow us to go forward. My personal thing for this meeting is to adopt a mode of being transformational， that is， taking information and translating that into the clinical arena for best outcomes， being provocative with our thought process， looking for and applying our best science， and trying to generate best outcomes. I think it has been a fabulous meeting， we have seen lots of new information and lots of enthusiasm. I am very pleased with where we are.
